Carbon Capture Canada, Canada’s national CCUS Convention, returns to Edmonton on September 23-25, 2025, at a make-or-break juncture for both the public and private sectors. With Deep Sky set to commence operations in the summer, federal investment in carbon management technologies under the Energy Innovation Program, and the advancement of Heidelberg’s groundbreaking CCUS project at its cement plant in Edmonton, the progress is tangible.

The global CCUS sector is expected to see a record number of final investment decisions (FIDs) in 2025, with around 200 projects aiming for approval. This shift from project announcements to execution will no doubt inform Canada’s CCUS strategies. Collaboration across industry and governments is essential to ensure CCS is a viable and necessary tool in accelerating decarbonization in an evolving geopolitical landscape.

Conference

Carbon Capture Canada 2025 will focus on Canada’s global leadership in CCUS. The conference will highlight policy frameworks, investment opportunities, and large-scale projects that position Canada as a key player in the global CCUS market. With international delegations and industry leaders participating, discussions will explore cross-border collaborations, emerging technologies, and lessons from global CCUS initiatives.

CARBON CAPTURE WORKSHOPS

These intensive workshops provide decision makers, planners, designers, operators, and engineers with the fundamentals to better understand the amine-based carbon capture process, which is suitable for oil and gas GHG CO2 emission emitting facilities. The workshop participants will learn the methodology to evaluate carbon capture options, design a process, establish a project and its phases, and more.

KNOWLEDGE BARS

The knowledge bars at Carbon Capture Canada will be dedicated areas where knowledge exchange occurs between customers, clients, and attendees. The open presentation style will have industry leaders covering a variety of technical topics relevant to Carbon Capture Utilization & Storage.
